A second series is officially in production that will continue investigating Steven Avery's case. If you're a big fan of the crime-docuseries, then you probably know that a second season of "Making A Murderer" was green-lit quite a while ago. The premiere date was left unstated, but now producers are very clear that a second series will follow-up the original series and it will be released on Netflix.
"Convicting a Murderer" is the official follow-up series to "Making A Murderer", and it is already in production, so get excited! The second series will be eight episodes of investigation that dives deeper into exactly how law enforcement put Avery behind bars.
After the original series aired, producers were criticised for being one-sided when analyzing Steven Avery's case. This second series is going to focus on how Avery was convicted and who put him there. In "Making a Murderer" law enforcement was unwilling to participate but in the second series, they will have access to District Attorney Ken Kratz, Lead Investigator Tom Fassbender and more.
The filmmaker Shawn Rech explains that this time around they want to examine the case with a wider lens by including perspectives from each side. Oh, and he even admits that they will be digging deeper into the allegations of police misconduct! This is what I was waiting for.
"Convicting a Murderer" does not have an official release date yet, as they are still in production - But we can't wait for the binge-worthy series to release on Netflix!
