It's hell on earth for Lucifer fans today. Lucifer hasn't had an easy run and the fans have been there with every petition and every protest when the show faced cancellation after season 3! The fans are actually the ones who convinced Netflix to pick up their favorite show. Now, Netflix just canceled Lucifer.
The show was picked up for a fifth season and canceled all at the same time. A spokesperson at Netflix announced, “We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for.”
They also tweeted the news, claiming the show will "...come to an end the way it should."
Lucifer stars Tom Ellis (Lucifer) and Lauren German (Chloe Decker), both supported the decision on Netflix and are grateful for the fifth season. Tom even said, "It's bittersweet for us too but all good things must come to an end...always leave them wanting more!"
Well, he's right! Fans already do want more. While they're grateful for the 2 seasons Netflix has given them after the show's cancelation at Fox, they can't help but be upset at the newest news.
Fans on Twitter are trying to figure out how they're supposed to live life without their favorite show.
It really does seem like this is the end of the Lucifer era, but who really knows? The show has switched platforms once already so avoiding another cancelation is definitely not out of the question. Fans have already picked up their old tactics; their #savelucifer campaign on Twitter is back!
Even if the show doesn't get picked up again the 'Lucifans' will not go down without a fight.
