Just when you think you're done with the crazy online dating world Netflix shows, another season gets ordered. However, things will be a lot different this time. While Dirty John is a true story, that doesn't mean they can't add to it. Or change it up completely. Netflix's Dirty John is getting a second season but it will be a totally different storyline.
If you loved Connie Britton and Eric Bana in the first season, I have some bad news for you. When Netflix confirmed the second season, they also confirmed a completely different cast and storyline. I know, I know. I'm sad too.
Not much has been confirmed other than that, as the storyline is still up in the air. But I can assume it will have to do with more online dating no-nos, and maybe a little more similar to Netflix's hit show YOU. Fans have said that the two are already very similar, though.
The story of Dirty John left fans shook, scared, and never wanting to date again. I can't blame them. The show really makes it seem like this could never happen, but this true crime anthology series is based on a true story, and it's very real. While the second season will definitely be more fictional, it will most likely have the same scary vibe.
Not only did Netflix order a second season, but they also ordered a docuseries, Abducted In Plain Sight style, for everything John Meehan, which was "Dirty John's" real name. People who lived through the case and were involved in it will be interviewed, and we cannot wait. Netflix is really going into the true crime world, and it's so exciting.
