Ashleigh Murray, who currently plays Josie McCoy on Riverdale will also act in the series. She will leave Riverdale this season so that she can play an older version of her current character, Josie McCoy, in the new show. Camille Hyde, Lucien Laviscount, Jonny Beauchamp and Julia Chan will also be in the pilot.
The pilot episode for Katy Keene will be written by Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi. Besides lending their writing skills, the two will also be serving as executive producers for the new CW series, alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schecter, John Goldwater, and Maggie Kelly.
