Star Wars is adding some royal lustre to its cast.
Prince William and Prince Harry are officially joining the First Order, and they're going to hit the big screen as two iconic Star Wars characters: Stormtroopers.
Rumours first spread in August that the royal brothers would appear in the next instalment of the Star Wars franchise, but John Boyega, who stars in the epic film series as Finn, recently confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter, letting spill that the princes filmed scenes when they visited the set last year.
During their tour of Pinewood Studios in England last April, William and Harry met cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Daisy Ridley (Rey), and Boyega. They got hands-on with some lightsabers, cuddled up to Chewbacca and hung out with BB-8. Unbeknownst to us, they also did some filming.
And apparently, Tom Hardy was lurking around at the same time. Both Hardy and singer Gary Barlow will appear in the Last Jedi as stormtroopers as well.
While Boyega has revealed that he shares a scene with the royal brothers, don't expect to see their faces - they'll be dressed head to toe in Stormtrooper attire.
And this certainly isn't the first time the franchise has had a bit of fun with cameos. In The Force Awakens, Princess Leia's real-life daughter, Billie Lourd, appeared along side her mother in a scene. There were also plenty of other celebrity cameos like Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Lupita Nyong'o and Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie, to name a few.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes to Canadian theatres on December 15th.
