If you like childhood board games and Ryan Reynolds, you're going to love what's coming to theatres.
Reynolds has apparently signed a three-year deal with 20th Century Fox for his production company, Maximum Effort. And his first project is based on everyone's favourite childhood board game.
According to reports, Reynolds will produce the new Clue movie, and Fox is in negotiations with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to re-team with the actor and write the film.
Here's a trailer of the last Clue film (released way back in 1985) to get to in the mood:
And it gets better: Reynolds will probably star, but his on-screen role is still a mystery - much like the board game.
But the big question is, will this film be a remake of the 1985 film starring Tim Curry, or will it be a brand-new take on the board game? As of right now, the film is being called “live action film based on the Hasbro board game Clue,” so it's not really clear, but considering the Deadpool team is slated to write it, we can only assume that this remake will be 100% original, profanity-ridden and sarcastic.
We won't know much else until the script is finished, but until then, my bet is on Ryan Reynolds in the dining room with a candlestick.
