Growing up, Disney movies were easily some of my favourites to watch. I still have all my old VHS tapes of the classics, and even though I don't watch them like I used to, they still give me a sense of nostalgia. Luckily, Disney and Pixar are still making new films for us to enjoy, no matter how old we get. As you may have heard, the first trailer for Toy Story 4 is here - but people have mixed feelings about it.
Much like in the other Toy Story movies, in this film, the whole gang is set out on an adventure to save Forky, the newest toy added to their little family. You can expect to see all the usual characters - Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Bo Peep, but of course, there are some new additions!
Keanu Reeves has hopped on board as a voice actor for the film, and he will be bringing Duke Caboom, a Canadian stuntman to life. We also get introduced to some super creepy puppets in the trailer, which you can check out here:
As with any new movie, it seems that people are having mixed reactions to the Toy Story 4 trailer. Some people are absolutely loving it:
me: meh I’m not that interested in Toy Story 4 when 3 ended it fine— karl (@karlfranks) March 19, 2019
Pixar: *drops trailer*
God only knows how many times we're all gonna cry in 'Toy Story 4'— Cam Williams (@MrCamW) March 19, 2019
While others are not as impressed:
Toy Story 4 looks like it's gonna be really good but did anyone else find the trailer really strangely edited? It kept jumping between threads and emotions and the sound bites were so up on each other. They could've just done a Frozen 2 kind of trailer showcasing the cool visuals— Jenny Nicholson (@JennyENicholson) March 19, 2019
Toy Story 4 - the movie ain’t out yet but some of the themes explored seem a little over cooked - maybe there’s no need for a villain this time and we just have a deep exploration of Woody coming to terms with the cycle of being a disposable object and how that effects him (1/2) pic.twitter.com/VfuAgukUim— Camara M Hall (@Camara_Miles) March 19, 2019
Toy Story 4 will probably be garbage like every other Toy Story movie— Comfortably Smug (@ComfortablySmug) March 19, 2019
So let me get this straight: Toy Story 4 is about Woody reuniting with Bo Peep after he goes after a suicidal toy and has to struggle with what it means to be a toy, which he already learned in the second movie. Also, he gets chased by the dummy from Goosebumps. #ToyStory4 pic.twitter.com/sdD34hMOmq— Kermit The Mistake (@CuckKermit) March 19, 2019
Regardless of what side you're on, I think we can all agree that the movie is going to be a tear jerker - Tom Hanks and Tim Allen both opened up about how emotional it was for them to record their final lines. The movie will be coming to theatres on June 21st, so be sure to mark your calendars!
