Do you ever feel like you're missing out on certain shows because you're too busy watching something else? While I'm over here watching Friends for the 30th time, other people are watching new shows and raving about them. So many new shows have come out, and these are the newest trending shows that you need to watch on Netflix Canada.
From creepy shows to shows that will make you laugh and cry, there are so many options to choose from. Trending usually means that a ton of people are talking about it, watching it, or that it's super new. So if you can't choose what new show to watch, I got you!
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann is a highly anticipated docuseries on Netflix Canada. It's a true story and it's about a three-year-old girl who got abducted while on a family vacation in Portugal. This happened in 2007, and the case is still not solved. The docuseries takes you through the whole case, with so many twists and turns. It's not a light show, so I would recommend not watching it before bed. You can read more about it here.
Type: Reality TV
If you haven't seen Queer Eye yet, what are you doing?! Queer Eye is a show about a group of men who are called the 'Fab Five'. They're currently on their third season which just came out, and this show will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. In this show, they give makeovers to men and women. Now, they don't just give makeovers to their appearance but their entire lives. If you want a super uplifting show, watch Queer Eye.
This show is about a girl named Star, who grew up as a foster child. However, she's not letting that stop her from pursuing her dreams. She forces her sister and her friend to be in a group with her, and the whole series follows them around while they try to become famous. It's a great show to watch if you need a little inspiration or motivation in your life.
Type: Dark comedy
After Life is about a man whose wife dies, and he contemplates suicide after it happens. He then realizes he's going to live his life without caring about anything, especially about how he treats or talks to people. Ricky Gervais stars in this new show, and it's really a lesson on how people view you.
Turn Up Charlie
Idris Elba plays a DJ whose career has really slowed down and to say he's struggling is an understatement. However, his friend offers him a job as a 'manny' to make money, and it turns out that this could be his second chance at fame. Turn Up Charlie is a great show if you're looking for something light to watch.
The Umbrella Academy
Type: Action drama
This series is unlike any other. In 1989, a ton of babies are born to women who were not pregnant. Seven of those babies end up being adopted by a billionaire, and they ultimately become superheroes aka The Umbrella Academy. However, the series gets much more complicated when they move forward and have to figure out who killed their 'father'.
Type: Horror drama
The Order is a new show on Netflix that is like a mix between American Horror Story and The Vampire Diaries. It follows freshman Jack Morton who feels super lost at Belgrave University. In order to find himself and also fit in, he joins a 'secret society' that ends up being nothing like he imagined. He ends up discovering some deep family secrets, and this show will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. You can read more about it here.
