Like so many of you, I spent my evening yesterday binge-watching Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. It's safe to say that I was totally shaken up by Ted's whole demeanor. He was unsettlingly charming, and the way he was able to deny all of his heinous crimes so easily made me sick to my stomach. We haven't seen that last of Mr. Bundy yet though! Zac Efron will be playing him in a new film, and the first trailer was just released.
The film is called Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil And Vile, and it gives us some further insight into the life of Ted Bundy. Even just from watching the trailer, people are already commenting on how well Efron is taking on the role - he's nailed down Bundy's charisma, attitude, and even his appearance.
What some other people are concerned about though, is the glorification of serial killers that this might bring about. After former Disney star Ross Lynch took on the chilling role of Jeffery Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer, people were widely sexualizing him in the role, and even going so far as to sexualize Dahmer himself. Similar comments have been made about Ted Bundy, and with Efrom stepping into the role, there are sure to be more.
A release date for the film has yet to be shared, but you can check out the first trailer for it here:
