Let's be real, Netflix is the new movie theatre. Prices for the streaming site may be going up, but so is the content. We're getting new and exclusive content weekly, and exciting things keep getting brought on. Even though Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes didn't do as well as everyone thought it would, with people claiming it was boring and hard to get through, I think the next Ted Bundy venture for Netflix will be a hit. Zac Efron's Ted Bundy movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Vile And Evil was bought by Netflix, and it will be coming soon!
The movie, which stars Zac Efron and Lily Collins, hasn't even wrapped filming and production and Netflix is already wanting to buy it. Are we surprised, though? Netflix has a love for all things true crime, and it's probably because it's fans do too. If you haven't heard, the movie is about the serial killer Ted Bundy, but it's more from the perspective of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer.
You'll also never guess how much Netflix paid for this movie. Lionsgate and STX, which are both entertainment companies were also in the running, but Netflix pulled out 9 million dollars for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Vile and Evil. That's a lot of money!
Now, whether you're team Zac Efron being Ted Bundy or not, seems like Netflix doesn't really care. People are already furious that Zac signed on to play Ted Bundy, but now you won't have to pay $12 for a movie ticket when you can just watch it at home!
While there isn't a date set for the movie to be on Netflix, the streaming site is aiming for sometime in the fall of 2019. I know it seems far, but if you miss Ted Bundy content, I guess just watch the trailer below over and over, or wait for the second one to drop.
