Over the past little while, you may have noticed that plenty of your favourite old TV shows have been brought back to life. Whether it's because producers are running out of new and exciting ideas, or they're getting tired of hearing us beg endlessly online for the revivals, we're definitely not complaining about it. Zoey 101 reboot starring Jamie Lynn Spears is in the works.
The news came from TMZ this afternoon after the media outlet learned that Spears has been in talks with Nickelodeon to bring back her iconic role. Sources say that plenty of talks between the two parties have been happening, but nothing is set in stone yet.
What we do know for sure though, is that if the reboot does happen, Spears will be back as the lead, but no longer in boarding school, of course. The apparent plot for the reboot will feature Zoey 10 years later, living in SoCal, likely as a mother of a few children.
It's still undetermined whether Zoey will have a love interest in the show, but obviously, if she does, we would all want Sean Flynn to reprise his role of Chase Matthews, Zoey's longtime love interest on the original show. Whether she has some romance or not, sources have also confirmed that this new series will show "Zoey with an edge", so she may not even need a man.
Spears hasn't made any comment on the reboot on her personal social media accounts, but we're sure that now that the news is out, fans will be quick to hound her for a definitive answer.
Even if Zoey 101 doesn't happen to make a comeback, Spears has also recently signed on for the upcoming Netflix Original series, Sweet Magnolias, so we'll be seeing a lot more of her face on the big screen one way or another.
