Between theatre releases and the many streaming services available, we're constantly bombarded with new movies and TV shows to the point where it's hard to keep track. If you have been keeping up with the biggest Hollywood actors, you might have noticed a few faces haven't been on screen in a while. That includes Eva Mendes, whose last movie role was in 2014 with her husband Ryan Gosling.
It's been over five years since the drama-mystery film written and directed by the Canadian actor was released.
Though Gosling didn't have an acting role in it, his wife was cast as the character Cat, alongside actors Christina Hendricks, Saoirse Ronan, Iain De Caestecker, and Matt Smith.
In the same year of the movie's release, the couple welcomed their oldest daughter, Esmeralda, now 5. In 2016, their second daughter, Amada Lee, was born.
Gosling and Mendes have been together since 2011 after meeting while filming The Place Beyond the Pines that was released in 2012.
Like many celebs, the parents keep photos of their daughters private, and Gosling doesn't have an Instagram account to share any snaps.
According to Oprah Magazine, the 45-year-old actress has "chosen to prioritize raising her young daughters over her acting career."
The news outlet quoted Mendes who wrote to a fan on Instagram explaining it further. She said, "As a mother now, there are many roles I won't do. There are many subject matters that I don't want to be involved with, so it limits my choices and I'm fine with that. I have to set an example for my girls now."
According to ET Canada, the actress also wrote to the fan, "But no worry, I got some side hustles. Ha!"
The hustles she's referencing include a clothing line she started in 2013 with New York & Company called the Eva Mendes Collection.
She often posts photos of her designs on her Instagram account.
