As 2020 draws nearer, so does yet another amazing World Expo. Showcasing how amazing our world and culture are, the expo takes place every five years in different locations. Next year, Expo 2020 will be taking place in Dubai, where culture from all over the world will come together for one giant celebration.
Opening October 20, 2020, Dubai will host a six-month expo which will be the first World Expo that has ever been held in the region. Welcoming 190 participating countries, and visitors from all around the globe, Dubai is working on creating an expo that keeps us looking towards the future.
As part of the expo, hundreds of pavilions will be set up from a variety of countries that will feature interactive exhibits for those to get to learn a little bit more about those countries.
In fact, it has been announced that Canada will have its own pavilion at the World Expo, and it looks breathtaking. The theme for Canada's pavilion is "The Future in Mind" and will focus on Canada's past, present and future.
The first noticeable thing about Canada's pavilion is the architecture. Inspired by Canada's landscapes and Arabic architectural elements, the amazing wooden structure is incredible to look at.
The intertwining of the wood throughout the building is meant to showcase the strong cultural connection that Canada has with the UAE.
On top of that, the building will also include a '360° immersive theatre' which will be showcasing a journey through Canada's past, present, and future.
The pavilion is also meant to help those discover the values that we have and the Canadian spirit of innovation and collaboration.
The pavilion will also have breathtaking nighttime views that everyone at the expo will be able to enjoy.
A variety of other pavilions will also be featured in Expo 2020, including those of Austria, China, and the United States.
Expo 2020 is set to open its doors on October 2020. For more information on the worldwide event, you can visit the World Expo website here.
