It's a pretty relatable experience for kids who grew up in Canada during the mid-2000s to have basically lived with the Family Channel playing 24/7. While up North we did have access to Disney, our hearts were tied to the Canadian cable network. That brought with it a variety of shows that were exclusive to our country and featured stars who grew up in the same areas as us. These Family Channel actors had appearances on other shows that you probably never noticed as a child.

Life With Derek

Michael Seater

The star of the show, Derek Venturi, was on our screens from 2005 to 2009. During that time, the Toronto-born actor also had an appearance in 2007 on Naturally Sadie as Cole.

Ashley Leggat

Derek wouldn't have had anyone to taunt without Casey McDonald. Leggat is from Hamilton and appeared in an episode of The Latest Buzz in 2008 as herself, and five episodes of Darcy's Wild Life as Brittany McMillan. She's now all grown up with a husband and two daughters.

Daniel Magder

The Toronto-born actor who played Derek's little brother Edwin was also in a 2009 episode of The Latest Buzz as Elliot. His last TV appearance was in 2015 on a series called Kroll Show.

Wingin' It

Demetrius Joyette

You probably know the name and face of this 26-year-old Toronto native. His first big role was as Michael Theodore Davies on The Latest Buzz from 2007 to 2010. Right after that ended, he starred in Wingin' It as Porter Jackson until 2012. He was also in an episode of What's Up Warthogs! in 2010, and way before he appeared in Darcy's Wild Life as Colt Brewster.

Dylan Everett

Hailing from Waterdown, Ontario, the 24-year-old played Carl Montclaire in Wingin' It. In 2007, he joined his future costar in an episode of The Latest Buzz as Big Ben. In 2010, he was in an episode of What's Up Warthogs! and appeared on Life with Boys in 2012 — two other Canadian teen sitcoms.

Radio Free Roscoe

Genelle Williams

One of the Toronto-born actress' first on-screen roles was playing Kim Carlisle on Radio Free Roscoe from 2003 to 2005. Later on, she played DJ on The Latest Buzz. She's still on TV today and was even in the 2018 Netflix Original, The Holiday Calendar.

Nathan Stephenson

Another Toronto actor who played Robbie "Question Mark" McGrath for two years, also appeared in two episodes of Naturally, Sadie as Jamie.

Kate Todd

Barrie-born Kate Todd starred as Lily "Shady Lane" Randall in Radio Free Roscoe. In 2007, she guest appeared in Naturally, Sadie as Jen and had a recurring role on Life with Derek as Sally for 10 episodes.

Naturally, Sadie

Jasmine Richards

It probably seems like everyone has had some sort of role in this comedy-drama that ran from 2005 to 2007. Scarborough-born Richards played Sadie's BFF, Margaret Brown-Levesque. She also had a cameo on The Latest Buzz in 2008 and starred as Tara Bohun on Overruled!, another Canadian sitcom, from 2009 to 2010. You'll also know the 29-year-old from Camp Rock 1 and 2.
