No trip to Alberta is complete without a visit to the West Edmonton Mall. The 5.3 million square foot building is home to over 800 stores, over 70 restaurants, two hotels, a waterpark, North America’s largest indoor amusement park, a casino, and so much more. It's a bucket list item for many Canadians — and for good reason.

Between the water park's tropical temperatures, endless activities, and the cozy themed hotel rooms, you, your friends, your SO, and your family will never want to leave — especially when you're facing -20°C temperatures outside. This holiday season, make sure you check these iconic activities off your West Edmonton Mall bucket list!

Why you need to go: There’s plenty of holiday magic under the glass dome of the Mayfield Toyota Ice Palace. On Wednesdays, it's $15 all-you-can-bowl and all-you-can-play billiards, while Throwback Thursdays have pretty much half price everything, with music playing from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Sea Lion Encounter

Price: $14 General Admission

Why you need to go: Pucker up to adorable Californian sea lions or splash around in the water together during West Edmonton Mall's unforgettable Sea Lion Encounter.
