5 Incredible Places In Texas That Will Make You Feel Like You’re In Another Country

Summer is the time for vacations and traveling, but sometimes traveling can get a little expensive. Thankfully for us, Texas is an absolutely massive state with countless great places to visit. There are actually plenty of Texas spots that kind of look like other beautiful spots around the world. To help you travel far without ever traveling out of state, here are five places in Texas that will make you feel like you've traveled out of the country.

Eisenhower State Park, Denison, and Lake Baikal, Russia

Price: $5 entry

Address: 50 Park Road 20 Denison, TX 75020

Why you need to go: Both of these gorgeous places have small beaches that are surrounded by walls made of rocks and trees. During the summer, the water can be a very beautiful shade of blue but unlike the lake in Russia, the one in Texas doesn't freeze during the winter.

The Guadalupe Mountains, Salt Flat and Tres Virgenes, Mexico

Price: $7

Address: Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Salt Flat, Texas

Castroville, Texas and Keyserberg, France

Price: Free

Address: Castroville, Texas

Why you need to go: The villages are almost identical, sharing very similar French country architectural styles and colors. Going into town, Castroville might make you feel like you've left the country and entered France itself. For the most part, Castroville continues to build and expand the town in the same French country village style as to not lose their historic and cultural flair.

Hamilton Pool, Dripping Spring and Misol Há, Mexico

Price: Free

Address: 24300 Hamilton Pool Rd, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

Why you need to go: These two hidden swimming holes have become popular tourist attractions over the years. Both locations are centered around massive walls of rock with a gorgeous clear blue spring in the middle. The matching waterfalls can be differentiated as the one in Texas has a calmer stream of water.
