Even if you don't see the snowflakes falling to the ground, you can take a quick trip to the North Pole in December. Florida Rail Road Museum will be taking you on the North Pole Express where you will ride into a winter wonderland whimsical paradise.
Once your roundtrip train departs and you arrive at the 'North Pole,' you will make reindeer food to take home, sit around a campfire, check out the railroad display, have access to unlimited hot cocoa and cookies, and of course, a visit with Santa; all in the most magical Christmas-themed atmosphere without ever leaving sunny Florida.
The train will leave from Parrish, FL and it will feature gleaming lights all over the train. The museum operates on a six-mile line between Parrish and Willow, Florida in rural Manatee County, where the first railroad in the county was built.
Florida Rail Road Museum operates train rides year-round with special events during the holidays. The trains depart from 83rd Street East in Parrish just behind the old Post Office.
You will feel like you are in a Harry Potter movie scene when you step aboard the North Pole Express.
You can also rent a vintage caboose for 16 passengers for a special occasion. The caboose rental includes one hour and a half private charter, tables, benches and more.
The trains run during the weekend, only on Saturdays and Sundays for $14 per person excluding special events. The North Pole Express will include several activities such as campfires, making reindeer food to take home, unlimited hot chocolate and cookies, dinner options available for purchase and more.
It will be like making s'mores with Santa and having the best holiday trip of your life.
The museum will be hosting several events this season including a pumpkin patch, WWII and civil war re-enactment. If you love trains and history, this is a trip worth getting on board.
