Texas sunsets have to be some of the most beautiful things you can experience in the United States. Thankfully we have Fort Parker State Park in Mexia, Texas where the sunsets are magnified by the blue water of the lake. The park has everything from camping to baseball and you can even rent equipment to complete your day out on the water.
Visitors can swim in the designated area or you can take a wonderful hike through the woods that have tons of bridges and trails that could go on for days. The park has plenty of places for bird watchers to hang out and maybe add a bird or two to their books. Hiking, biking, and canoeing are all welcomed at the park and you can rent equipment from the park office if you don't have your own. If you're going during offseason, all you have to do is request the gear and you'll be all set.
We wouldn't blame you if you couldn't get enough of this beautiful place! Luckily for us, camping starts at just $12 and works it's way up depending on what style of camping you'd like to enjoy. They even have the option for you to reserve a spot for you and 96 of your closest friends (we'll be impressed if you have that many)!
The daily entrance fee for the park is $4 and the gates are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Early summer and fall are their busiest seasons but the park is so big so there is plenty of space for everyone.
