Since their engagement, no one can help but speculate every single detail of Justin Bieber and Hailey Balwin’s future nuptials. I’m totally guilty as being one of those people.
Rumours have been swirling in the media as to where the two might exchange their vows. Considering Bieber just bought a new mansion in Ontario, some are even thinking they'll wed in on his home turf. This got me thinking, where on earth would two incredibly rich and famous 20-somethings get married in Canada?
Money is absolutely no object for Bieber. I mean, the odds of him getting married in the most ridiculously expensive spot in the entire world is totally an option. But, how nice would it be if he made Hailey his wife in his home country, right?
I’ve curated a list of the most beautiful, expensive, unique and over-the-top wedding venues our country has to offer - because you just never know.
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Alberta
The scenery surrounding this venue is absolutely breathtaking. Summer weddings feature an incredible view of Banff’s famous turquoise Moraine Lake. Winter weddings wow guests with snowy mountain and glistening glacier scenery.
This space allows for an intimate gathering of no more than 150 people. With gourmet food, deluxe booze and champagne totalling $375 per person. The dinner and beverages alone set high-rollers back almost $60,000.
Graydon Hall Manor, Ontario
This Georgian Manor was built for only $250,000 back in 1936. Judging by the ritzy weddings held there, this Toronto space has probably earned its money back thousands of times over. The hall’s 1920s vibes are charming and luxurious.
Summer weddings are surrounded by cascading fountains, gorgeous gardens, and cozy fireplaces. A Justin and Hailey-style wedding at this venue could cost at least $130,000. I know, chump change, right?
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Quebec
Get married at a multimillion dollar renaissance castle? Yep, sounds like a celebrity thing to do. This stunning venue looks out onto the St. Lawrence River.
Notable elite guests of the estate include Princess Grace of Monaco, Ronald Reagan, and Alfred Hitchcock. It’s the largest ballroom can accommodate a whopping 1,000 people. Imagine all the celebrities!
Casa Loma, Ontario
This is Toronto’s version of Le Chateau Frontenac. Like something out of a fairytale, Hailey would look like a total princess bride in front of this historic castle.
Their venue can hold up to 550 wedding guests sure to be stunned by the dazzling site and in love with the food which is prepared by an award-winning chef. An A-list even here would be a minimum of $100,000.
Hacienda Sarria, Ontario
The Hacienda Sarria in Kitchener is one venue known for its incredible architecture. There are multiple rooms where couples can say “I do” including a courtyard with 40-foot ceilings. Outside, the spacious estate features greenery all around as well as a patio and reflecting pond - 300 guests can be accommodated here.
Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, Ottawa
This is the spot where legendary Canadian, Celine Dion married her husband, René Angélil back in 1994. The Ottawa church is the oldest standing in the city built back in 1841. As you can see from the photos, it's absolutely breathtaking. The ridiculously amazing cathedral could be an incredible venue for the two religious stars to say “I do”, there’s just one problem.
In order to be married in this church, one of the individuals has to be baptized as Catholic. Justin and Hailey are both Christian and so unless they're planning on changing religions, this one is probably a no.
Hatley Castle, British Colombia
This Scottish-style mansion was built in 1908. The home turned wedding venue features oak and rosewood panelled rooms, several gardens and Tudor style embellishments. It has gorgeous views of the Esquimalt Lagoon, the Straits of San Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains.
Hôtel de Glace in Quebec City, Quebec
While this venue isn’t exactly pricey (on Justin and Hailey's scale, anyway), it is extremely cool. Known as one of the most unique hotels in Canada, Hôtel de Glace in Quebec City holds spectacular weddings. We couldn’t possibly think Justin and Hailey would have your typical vow exchange, could we?
The venue is almost entirely made up of ice and snow which is just so Canadian. Bride and grooms exchange vow in a chapel surrounded by glistening ice with romantic backlighting. The venue can only hold 40 guests which is good because any more than that and everyone’s body heat would probably melt the place.
Fairmont Le Chateau Laurier, Ottawa
Clearly only built for royalty, this castle has seen guests such as Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana. The French-style venue has event rooms with sky-high ceilings, chandeliers and massive windows. 400 guests can be accommodated at this luxury location.
Fairmont Banff Springs, Alberta
Inside Banff National Park is this amazing castle which is known as “Canada’s Castle in the Rockies”. Couples can wed on their outdoor terrace overlooking mountain peak after mountain peak.
The reception spaces can hold a whopping 900 guests. Notable guests the hotel has seen include Marilyn Monroe, Helen Keller and King George VI.
