The Cannes Film Festival is held every year in southern France and it's one of the prestigious events of the year. The finest actors, actresses and celebrities from all over the world attend this coveted event.

But for some strange reason, crazy things keep happening at this year's festival. Some of these incidents are inspiring, some are ... not. From wardrobe malfunctions to inspiring political statements to crazy attire, this year's Cannes Film Festival is one for the books.

1. Kendall Jenner wore a see-through outfit. 

Kendall Jenner is taking #FreeTheNipple very seriously. She wore an outfit that put her breasts on full display, and somehow she still managed to make the outfit look amazing.

2. Kristen Stewart went barefoot.

Kristen Stewart, who is known for controversy, slipped off her black Louboutins on the red carpet and went barefoot! She took off her super-high stilettos before running up the large set of stairs into the event. It was hilarious and awesome all at the same time.

3. Cannes Film Director vowing to promote gender parity.

According to IndieWire, Thierry Fremaux signed a pledge vowing to increase transparency and promote gender parity at the film event. Other male directors, Paolo Moretti and Charles Tesson also signed the pledge.

4. Kendall Jenner wore another see-through dress.

One time wasn't enough. Kendall was there to make a statement. Kendall has been very vocal about the #FreeTheNipple movement. She wore a fairy-like tulle dress that definitely showed everything, but she still managed to look like an angel sent down from heaven.

5. 82 women marched the stairs in unison to demand gender equality.

Linked arm in arm, 82 women from Hollywood marched up the famous Cannes stairs. According to HelloGiggles, this political act made a statement about their need for gender equality in the film industry.

6. Farrah Abraham's wardrobe malfunction.

Farrah Abraham suffered a very unfortunate and very public wardrobe malfunction. Daily Mail captured the malfunction on camera. Her dress, which was beautiful by the way, had a very high cut slight that slid over and ended up showing... too much.
