I think it's safe to say that we can all admit - 2018 has been a seriously f*cked up year. Although every year has its share of ups and downs, laughter and tears, and healing and pain, something about this year, in particular, has just pushed us all over the edge.
Sure, we could all sit around and complain about what a crazy year we've had. Or, we could make light of it and try and laugh at some of the absolutely crazy stuff that's happened this year. Whether it be politics, weed legalization, or even just celebrity breakups, there's so much more for us to look back on and laugh at.
If you're in need of a giggle right now, we've taken the time to culminate a list of some of the weirdest celebrity couples that have come to fruition in 2018. Honestly... Do some of these people even have anything in common?! Check it out, and let us know - Who do you think was the weirdest celebrity couple of the year?
Nicki Minaj and Eminem
Do you all remember the day, not too long ago, when the internet absolutely BLEW UP over news that Nicki Minaj and Eminem were dating? If this wasn't a couple none of us saw coming, I don't know who would be. While we're pretty sure this was all in good fun, and the two never actually pursued a romantic relationship, we sure were pretty shook when the news initially broke.
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson
Although the whole world did eventually fall in love with them, there was definitely a point in time when nobody really believed that Ariana and Pete were together. Their romance moved at the speed of light, and both of them had just gotten out of serious long-term relationships, so there was definitely reason for fans to question whether the whole thing was a prank or not. Although they have since split, the two both seem to be doing well with Ariana releasing "thank u, next", and Pete working on other projects.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas
Growing up, so many of us fangirls had a crush on Nick Jonas because of his sweet, shy, boy-next-door tendencies. Never did we ever think that he would end up marrying someone like Priyanka Chopra - a self-actualized, confident, outspoken, and OLDER woman. The world was definitely eyeing these two closely when they stepped out at the MET Gala together, although they denied any rumours of actual coupledom. Clearly, they were lying though because, within months, they were happily married.
Noah Cyrus and Lil Xan
When I was younger and absolutely obsessed with Miley Cyrus, I remember her sweet little sister appearing in the occasional interview or article, but mostly staying out of the spotlight. It seems that Noah grew up overnight though, and now she's following in the footsteps of her older sister, making catchy music and dating... Interesting men. Noah and rapper Lil Xan got together over the summer of 2018, but their relationship didn't last long - the two broke up at the end of the summer and it was reportedly very messy.
Elon Musk and Grimes
If this couple isn't proof that we live in a simulation, I honestly don't know what is. Perhaps the two least likely people to get together on the planet, you have to wonder... How did these two even meet? Over the past year they've faced their share of drama, including Twitter beef with rapper Azelia Banks, the Thai Soccer Team rescue, as well as some political drama. There's no doubt in our minds that their relationship doesn't have any lack of excitement, and we're curious to see what's in store for them!
Ashley Benson and Cara Delevigne
Although we're not at all mad that they're together, the union of Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson, and model Cara Delevigne certainly did not seem likely. The two are rumoured to have been together since May, and definitely aren't shy when it comes to displaying PDA in front of the paparazzi! Overall their relationship has managed to stay pretty lowkey, so let's hope they last!
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
Maybe it's just because I'm really not a Katy Perry fan, but I do find myself wondering, "What are these two doing together?!" The two have been on-again off-again for the past few years, allegedly due to busy schedules. Perry confirmed their reunion on the season finale of American Idol, and the couple has reportedly been back and happy in love ever since. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if it lasts this time around.
Emma Watson and Chord Overstreet
This was definitely one of the more lowkey romances of the year, and it's also managed to completly avoid stirring up any gossip! Emma and Chord began quietly seeing one another in March, and confirmed to Page Six a few months ago that they were in fact, dating. As of right now we can't say what their relationship status is for sure - the last they were seen together was in June, so anything could have happened since then!
Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse
Robert Pattinson definitely has a knack for dating eccentric girls, so when he started dating seemingly "normal" model Suki Waterhouse, we were all pretty surprised! Ever since his Twilight days ended, R. Pattz has been pretty good about staying out of the spotlight. He and Waterhouse have reportedly been together since July, and as of November, the two were planning on moving in together so they can spend more time with one another.
