Fans of the show Arrested Development will know Portia de Rossi as the slightly immature, flirty and smug Lindsay Bluth Fünke.
The show is dropping a new season on Netflix at the end of this month but it looks like it’s going to be the last one ever.
That’s because Rossi says that she’s done with acting.
In a sit-down with her own wife, Ellen Degeneres, Rossi explained why “I was approaching 45 and I was just wondering, is there something that I could tackle now that I’ve never done before that would be very challenging and different,” she said.
“I kind of knew what acting would look like for me for the next 10, 20 years, so I decided to quit and start a business,” she said.
Rossi started an art curation and publication company called General Public.
She says that she actually quit months ago and told the creator of Arrested Development that, but it didn’t really stop them from casting her.
“I called Mitch Hurwitz, who’s the creator of Arrested Development, and I said, ‘if there is a season 5 I won’t be doing it because I quit acting’ and he seemed really understanding and he totally got it and we had a great conversation and then he wrote me into 5 episodes,” she said.
You can see the interview between her and Ellen below.
We’re very happy that we get to see her play Lindsay in at least 5 more episodes of the show.
We just wish it didn’t have to end.
