It looks like having a Canadian popstar as a huge fan didn't really get A$AP Rocky anywhere in the legal world. The same goes for being backed up by the President of the United States of America. While there's been a lot of petition going around to release the rapper from his arrest in Sweden, the courts have made their decision. A$AP Rocky has been charged with assault in Sweden.

A$AP was arrested on Jul. 3 in Sweden following a street fight that allegedly involved broken bottles and lots of injuries. The rapper has pleaded not guilty to these claims, stating that the fight was an act of self-defense. A$AP was in Stockholm headlining for a hip-hop festival called Smash X Stadion.

According to NBC News, this is what the public prosecutor had to say about the assault charges against the rapper:

"I have today commenced criminal proceedings against the three individuals suspected of assault causing actual bodily harm, having come to the conclusion that the events in question constitute a crime and despite claims of self-defense and provocation."

His court date is set for next Tuesday.

Throughout the last couple of weeks, A$AP has been collecting support back home in North America from, Kanye West, Donald Trump, and Justin Bieber.

Donald Trump has tweeted that America is doing everything they can to free A$AP, he even called Sweden's Prime Minister. While A$AP's Canadian connection, Justin Bieber, is in full support of his release, Bieber believes that maybe the USA should take care of some more important things first.

Bieber urged Trump to, "let those kids out of cages", referring to the detainment camps run by ICE that are set up across the country.

Either way, it doesn't seem like the support of either of these celebs helped the rapper's case. A crime was carried out and the only way A$AP will be freed now is if the Swedish judges believe he's innocent.
