Now that we're nearly halfway through June, it's time to switch into full-on summer mode. Here in Alberta, nothing screams "summer" more than the Calgary Stampede. The countdown is officially on, and people are already planning which days they want to head down to the party. Whether you're all about the delicious food, the crazy rides, or the wild parties, one thing's certain - this year's Stampede will not disappoint. 2019 Calgary Stampede welcomes Lil Nas X as a headliner.
Over the past few weeks, the Stampede has been announcing endless headliners at its various venues. From Nashville North to the Coca Cola Stage, this year has some major concerts announced, and they're not done yet!
On Wednesday, June 12th, the official Cowboys Music Festival announced that the latest headliner added to their lineup is none other than Lil Nas X, the singer behind the catchy country song "Old Town Road".
Rumour has it that Cowboys dished out roughly $50,000 to get the singer on board, and that could potentially be just for the one song. Knoxville's was also bidding to grab Lil Nas as a performer, but Cowboys ultimately beat them out.
Tickets for the concert go on sale at 2 p.m. MST today on the Cowboys Music Festival website. You can click the link in their Instagram bio for access to a pre-sale code, which will be e-mailed out at 1:45 p.m. MST. Prices have yet to be announced, but other shows at the Cowboys Tent are priced anywhere from $40 - $80.
Other headliners you can see at Cowboys for the 2019 Calgary Stampede include Guy Fieri, Brett Eldredge, Lee Brice, and Juice Wrld. Plenty more concert announcements are coming over the next few days, so be sure to keep your Instagram notifications on and get those tickets before they sell out!
