The 2020 Grammy Awards were a huge night for so many major celebrities. Unfortunately, according to The Star, none of the Canadian artists who were nominated this year brought home a Grammy. However, the stars still killed it on the red carpet and caught the attention of their fans on Twitter.
After news of former NBA startoday, the mood at Los Angeles' Staples Center was more sombre than it usually is on Grammy night. Host Alicia Keys made sure to pay tribute to the lost hero and pick the mood back up with a fun song about all the wonderful musical events that shaped 2019.
Keys' enthusiasm and good humour transferred through the TV screen into the fans at home as they've been making hilarious tweets about the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards all night long.
Some Canadian celebrities in the building included A Little Late host, "Figures" singer Jesse Reyez, pop-star Shawn Mendes, and up and coming country singer Orville Peck.
While watching from the comfort of their own home, fans of the iconic Canadians shared their thoughts on everything fromfor the night to who should've won what award.
Canadian country crooner Shania Twain was a presenter at tonight's award show but audiences couldn't help but notice just how great she looks for a 54-year-old.
Others also joked that tonight's show felt like a flashback in time with the appearances from Twain, Usher, and Gwen Stefani.
Bieber wasn't nominated for any awards tonight so while it's not a surprise he didn't show, fans were still hopeful. They posted photos of an empty carpet joking about how good he looks, as well as throwbacks to previous years when the 25-year old was serving looks.
According to TMZ, Bieber plans to skip out on award shows until his highly anticipated album is released later this year.
Despite being nominated for two awards at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, Drizzy also wasn't present. While giving a speech at last year's show, the Toronto rapper threw shade at the academy and subsequently had his mic cut off.
Twitter users shared that they were hoping to see a similar speech from another winner tonight and that Drake's song "Grammys" is better than the actual show.
Perhaps one of the biggest mysteries of the night was the whereabouts of Canada's own Shawn Mendes. The "If I Can't Have You" singer was seen walking the red carpet without his girlfriend, Camila Cabello according to Cosmopolitan.
Since he made his way across the carpet though, Mendes hasn't been spotted by anyone, which has many of his Twitter fans absolutely shook.
Canadian country singer Orville Peck pulled up to the Grammys with Diplo. The two wore very similar western style outfits, and Twitter was eating it up.
