5 Canadian Celebrities That Were Inducted To Canada's Walk Of Fame Last Night
Canada is full of stars.
We're really talented in Canada. Our celebrities are loved not just here but all over the globe and we punch out of our weight class when it comes to star power. Canada's Walk of Fame welcomed more celebrity inductees on Saturday, November 23 including some very familiar names.
According to the CBC, there were a ton of new added to the walk of fame at the awards show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Similar to the Hollywood walk of fame where celebs get stars placed in their honour, each Canadian celebrity will get their own version on the streets of Toronto.
Everyone who was recognized will be getting their name placed in Toronto's entertainment district.
The Candian version of the "star" looks like a dark, round disk with their name and a modern maple leaf design.
Each inductee into Canada's walk of fame signs their tile before it hits the streets of Toronto.
Part of their "Outstanding Group of Canadians" also included Mr. Dressup which was a total heartwarming throwback for Canadians who grew up watching his show on CBC.
From rising stars to true Canadian treasures, here are five Canadian celebrities that were inducted to Canada's Walk of Fame recently:
Will Arnett is best known for his work on shows like Arrested Development and Bojack Horseman, but now the Toronto-born actor will be able to visit his star on Canada's Walk of Fame whenever he heads back to the 6ix.
Mark Messier was once just a kid from St. Albert, but with years of hard work and dedication, he was able to make it to the NHL where he played for the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and the Vancouver Canucks.
If you're a big fan of the Olympics, you may have heard of Cindy Klassen. The Winnipeg-born speed skater has achieved one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals for Canada, which is exactly how she earned her spot on the Walk of Fame.
Alessia Cara may just be 23-years old, but she's. She's won both JUNO and Grammy awards and has toured all over the world, bringing her soulful and beautiful music to fans everywhere.
If there ever was a Jack of all trades, it would be Jim Treliving. You may recognize his face from the show Dragon's Den, but he also happens to be the owner of Treleving Management and Boston Pizza International, two very successful Canadian companies that have earned him his spot on the Walk of Fame.
