Everybody loves a comeback kid! There's nothing like dropping from the celebrity radar for a few years — only to come back stronger than ever while pulling on all our nostalgic heart-strings of course.

From big moves to little moves and everything else in between, here are 7 Canadian celebrities who have made career comebacks recently.

Shania Twain

After being diagnosed with Lyme disease a few years ago which caused her to believe she may never sing again, Shania Twain has made a full comeback with her music. After undergoing an open-throat surgery to save her voice, it's safe to say that Shania is a true survivor going on to release her fifth studio album Now in 2017, along with snagging her second Las Vegas residency starting this December.

Matthew Perry

He's kept us laughing out loud as Chandler Bing (or perhaps Miss Chanandler Bong) for years and after some time out of the spotlight, Matthew Perry is a hot topic these days especially with the rumors of a possible Friends reboot.

While there has been talk in the tabloids regarding his sobriety over the years, Matthew has made his return to acting with shows like The Kennedys After Camelot and The Odd Couple, as well as the play The End of Longing that he wrote and starred in. He was also seen in public for the first time in years about a month ago, where fans expressed their concerns for him.

Michael Bublé

After his son was diagnosed with cancer back in 2016, Michael Bublé seemed to drop off the radar for a little while to really focus on his family. We don't blame him for his much-needed hiatus, especially since he came back stronger than ever with his tenth studio album Love.

Kim Cattrall

While she got some bad press for not wanting to do another Sex and the City movie, Kim Cattrall has been pretty busy these days. Since her Samantha days, Kim has been working on a new show Tell Me a Story which premiered in 2018 and was recently renewed for a second season. She was also cast as a series regular in the newest FOX show Filthy Rich which is currently in production.

Avril Lavigne

With hit songs from Sk8er boi to Complicated, Avril Lavigne stole hearts when she popped up on the music scene back in 2002 with her laid-back style and punk rock sound. While she disappeared for a few years due to Lyme Disease, Avril is back in the biz with her new album Head Above Water.

Dan Levy

From a co-host to Schitt's Creek, Dan Levy may have started from the bottom but he's finally here! You may remember him back in the day as the guy beside Jessi Cruickshank on MTV's The Hills: The After Show, or perhaps you saw him on MTV Live. Dan has made a name for himself over the years, along with being the son of actor Eugene Levy who he stars alongside on the hit CBC series Schitt's Creek.

Sandra Oh

She's made it perfectly clear she won't be returning to Grey's Anatomy anytime soon to reprise her character of Cristina, but Sandra Oh is back in the spotlight again with a whole new role. One of her biggest roles since Grey's, Sandra currently stars in the series Killing Eve which premiered in 2018 and has been renewed for a third season.
