Even Canada has its own version of the Kardashians. It may seem that some of the best TV celebrities come from America, but as it turns out, there are quite a few Canadian reality TV stars that have won over the hearts of the world in recent years.
For us, many Canadian spin-offs of reality shows tend to be cancelled after just a few seasons (remember The Bachelor Canada?). Luckily though, U.S. shows often allow Canadians to audition for and participate in their series when we don't have one of our own.
Most recently, a quirky, blonde, Langley-born fashion blogger named Mykenna Dorn made a big splash on Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor, with her hilarious facial expressions, giant hair clips, and unforgettable motivational speeches aimed at her haters.
Other Canadians have established themselves as household names after their stint in the industry as well, and some of them are just as successful as their American co-stars. Take Kevin Wendt for example! He got his start on a Canadian reality show, then went on to become a fan favourite after starring in several American spin-offs, reminding the rest of the world just how great our country really is.
Natalie Halcro // Relatively Nat & Liv
According to Famous Birthdays, Natalie Halcro’s career took off when she began modelling as a teenager. The 32-year-old has since appeared on WAGS, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and now has her own reality series on E! called Relatively Nat & Liv.
Just a few days ago, PEOPLE reported that Halcro gave birth to her first daughter, who she named Dove.
Kevin Wendt // The Bachelorette Canada
Kevin Wendt’s reality TV debut was made back in 2016 when he participated in the first and only season of The Bachelorette Canada. The 34-year-old ended up winning the heart of Jasmine Lorimer and the two were engaged, although ET Canada reported that they split just five months after.
Since then, Wendt has appeared on Bachelor Winter Games where he met and then dated Ashley Iaconetti. After their breakup, Wendt took another shot at love and appeared on the fifth season of Bachelor in Paradise, where he met his current partner, Astrid Loch.
Jonathan Scott // The Property Brothers
According to IMDb, The Property Brothers first hit the air back in 2011. Since his rise to fame, Jonathan Scott has amassed a whopping 1.9 million Instagram followers and the home design duo has created several successful spinoffs.
Scott also entered a relationship with actress Zooey Deschanel back in 2019. The two regularly share details about their adorable relationship on social media, including trips to Las Vegas, sweet Valentine’s Day messages, and much more.
Kaitlyn Bristowe // The Bachelor
34-year-old Kaitlyn Bristowe is considered something of a household name in Bachelor Nation. The Canadian star made her debut during Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor, although she was sent home after fantasy suites.
ABC gave Bristowe another shot at love when they cast her as the lead in the eleventh season of The Bachelorette. She ended the show engaged to Shawn Booth, but E! News reported that they split in late 2018.
According to Us Weekly, the Canadian has been dating Bachelorette season 14 contestant Jason Tartick since January of 2019.
Dane Rupert // Big Brother Canada
Kelowna native Dane Rupert was crowned the winner of the seventh season of Big Brother Canada, taking home the grand prize of $100,000. Since winning, Rupert has amassed nearly 30,000 followers on Instagram and continues to do meet and greets and appearances, according to his IG page.
Roxy Earle // Real Housewives of Toronto
At 36-years-old, Roxy Earle has had a very successful career. According to Famous Birthdays, Earle joined the cast of Real Housewives of Toronto back in 2017. She has a fashion and travel blog called Luxurious Roxy and has worked as an advertising and marketing executive.
According to her Instagram page, Earle is a huge advocate for body positivity and she works to help brands design great clothes for people of all sizes.
