Madonna's birthplace is in Bay City, Michigan however, her mother comes from French-Canadian descent. IMDb writes that she and Celine Dion even have a common ancestor named Zacharie Cloutier.

Mark Wahlberg

Boston-born Wahlberg is one-eighth French-Canadian from his mother and also has a love for the city of Toronto. The Star reported that the actor bought a $12 million penthouse in Yorkville back in 2011.

Lady Gaga

The "Shallow" singer hails from Manhattan, though her West Virginia-born mother is half French-Canadian and Italian.

Brendan Fraser 

Indianapolis-born Fraser comes from a Nova Scotian mother and father from Saskatchewan, with French-Canadian ancestry that runs in his family. He also briefly lived in Ottawa and studied at Upper Canada College in Toronto.

The Tesla CEO was born in South Africa but moved to Kingston, Ontario when he was a teenager in order to study at Queen's University. Despite dropping out after two years, he ended up getting his Canadian citizenship, which is also helped by his mother Maye Musk who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Jessica Alba 

The Good Luck Chuck star from Pomona, California lived in Canada for about five years and even called it "like my second home", according to Global News.

Robin Thicke

L.A.-born Thicke is actually a Canadian citizen and claims that he's "proud" that it's part of his identity, according to The Globe and Mail. His late father Alan Thicke was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, lending to their Canadian roots. 

Kim Cattrall 

The Sex and the City star originates from Liverpool, England but immigrated to Little River, B.C. with her family when she was three months old and was raised there. IMDb writes that she currently lives in Courtenay, B.C.

Walt Disney 

You can thank the American entrepreneur for creating the wonderful world of Disney. Biography claims that his roots are actually Irish-Canadian from his father, Elias Disney.

The famous TV presenter was born in Paris, France but gets some French-Canadian roots from her mother.

The power forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers was born and raised in Toronto and attended a French secondary school in Brampton before moving to New Jersey to pick up his basketball career.

L.A.-born Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand was about one-half French-Canadian. IMDb adds that she has a "maternal eight times great-grandmother" named Catherine Anenontha, who was born in Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec.

Matt LeBlanc 

Looks like Matthew Perry wasn't the only Friends star with Canadian roots. Newton, Massachusetts-born LeBlanc comes from his French-Canadian father, Paul LeBlanc.

Sir Elton John gets his Canadian ties through Toronto-born hubby David Furnish. The couple has been married since 2014 and shares two children together.

The Oakland, California-born actor comes from a mother who has half French-Canadian roots.

Samantha Bee 

The Full Frontal with Samantha Bee host does weekly segments about America but was actually born and raised in Toronto, with an education from George Brown Theatre School, per IMDb.
