Céline Dion's Mother Thérèse Dion Died At 92 Years Old
She leaves behind 13 children.
The world is mourning the loss of the Canadian icon, TV personality, and mother of a worldwide superstar. Céline Dion's mom, Thérèse Dion, died last night at 92 years old.
Born on March 20, 1927, she was known in the province as the stage mother of her daughter. In Quebec, she was affectionately known as "Maman Dion."
According to CBC, Thérèse died on "Thursday night surrounded by her family."
The news outlet also reported that she was instrumental in launching Céline's music career — she helped write the song "Ce n'était qu'un rêve," which would end up being Céline's first hit single.
She was the mother of 14 children, with Céline being the youngest born in 1968. Her oldest child was born in 1948 when she was 21 years old. She shared her children with her late husband, Adhémar-Charles Dion.
Another of her daughters, Claudette Dion, also had a career in music according to CBC.
Thérèse had her own cooking show and also released a line of food products called Pâtés de Maman Dion.
She leaves behind 13 of her children including Céline who is currently on the Courage World Tour following her album Courage that was released in November 2019.
