If you're a big fan of Canadian rapper Drake, I probably don't need to tell you that OVO Fest is one of the performers most anticipated events of the year. Seeing Drake alone live is great, but when he brings his whole crew together to put on a show, people get even more excited than you'd think. Drake's 2019 OVO Fest lineup is being absolutely roasted on Twitter.
When Drizzy announced that OVO Fest would be coming back in 2019 after not having happened in 2018, people were ecstatic. It was during the Raptors' NBA Championship parade that the rapper shared the big news with his hometown.
As promised, the lineup for the festival was dropped on Instagram today. The OVO Summit will be held on August 2nd, then August 4th welcomes a string of other rappers including B2K, Mario, Pretty Ricky, Chingy, and more.
Of course, Drake will be headlining the festival at Toronto's Budweiser Stage on Monday, August 5th. Usually, OVO Fest is known for keeping its lineup diverse and interesting, but fans couldn't help but notice that this year's lineup looked a little too familiar.
If you're not familiar, the Millenium Tour happened earlier in 2019, and called on early 2000s boy band B2K to get back together. Along with all the artists featured on the OVO Fest lineup, they toured across North America for the first time in over a decade, performing all your favourite throwback hits.
While people who didn't get to hit up the Millenium Tour are excited about this OVO Fest lineup, a lot of people are wishing that Drake would have gotten a bit more creative this year, and brought on some new talent, or some old OVO favs, especially after Toronto's already had such a big year.
Tickets for OVO Fest go on sale this Friday, July 12th.
