The Property Brother has spoken. Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel took time while social distancing to address their Canadian and American fans on Instagram last night. In a heartfelt message, they shared with fans the importance of taking precautions during this uncertain time.
Scott started by admitting that the pair wanted to have an “honest conversation” with everyone.
He then went on to describe some misconceptions about COVID-19 that he feels have been circulating, “There's a lot of crazy stuff going on right now and a lot of misinformation going around.”
He highlighted the fact that some are not heeding precautions because they're in the “low-risk category.” He warned, “you can pass it on to somebody who is in a high-risk category.”
“So we're just asking for one thing,” he pleaded, passing the reins onto his girlfriend.
“Stay home,” Deschanel preached, “It's very easy.”
The HGTV star then went on to assure people that of course, they can still “go for a walk” and get “fresh air” but warns against groups of people and public places.
The New Girl actress went on to add how important it is to also “avoid touching things” and to wash your hands.
They both concluded the video with well-wishes asking people again to stay home, in addition to keeping healthy.
The video was posted on both Scott's and Deschanel's Instagram accounts with a caption that reiterated their message: “Hi, friends. Zooey and I want to ask you to please stay home if you can. It's as simple as that. Take care of yourselves and your community by avoiding public places, washing your hands carefully, and being kind.”
The two celebs first started dating in the open back in October after meeting on the set of a special Carpool Karaoke session.
Scott isn't the only Canadian celeb sharing how they're practicing social distancing. A-listers like Drake, Lilly Singh, and Matthew Perry have also posted glimpses into what life has looked like over the past few days.
