After a phone call with Kayne West, US President Donald Trump announced Friday that we would be working to free rapper A$AP Rocky, who is currently incarcerated in Sweden. Now a Canadian celebrity is weighing in on the situation. Justin Bieber called out Donald Trump over the A$AP Rocky situation and he had some mixed feelings for the president.

Late Friday night, Justin Bieber retweeted a message from the president which read, "Just spoke to [Kanye West] about his friend A$AP Rocky’s incarceration. I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky. So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!"

A$AP Rocky is an American rapper but he was arrested in Sweden after assault allegations on July 3. While he doesn't face any formal charges yet, the prosecutors are allowed to hold him in jail until July 25 while they investigate since he poses a flight risk.

As for Justin Bieber's involvement, the Canadian born singer had called for A$AP Rocky to be freed earlier this month so it's not surprising that he is supporting Donald Trump's mission to help him.

What is surprising is that Bieber took the opportunity to actually call President Trump out over migrant detention centres at the US border. In a tweet to the president, Bieber said: "can you also let those kids out of cages?"

Bieber's comments come amid a migrant crisis at the US-Mexico border. It was revealed earlier this year that immigrants who cross the border without going through an official crossing point are been detained and held in detention centres that are run by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

It has been reported that even migrant children are being put in cages and cells at these centres. On top of this, the children are reportedly separated from their families. According to Time, these centres are dangerously overcrowded and at least 24 migrants have died in custody, including seven children.

While it's not completely unheard of for Canadians to comment publicly on what is happening with our neighbour to the south, Justin Bieber has actually been living in the US since he was 13-years-old. It was even reported late last year that Bieber had begun the process of becoming a dual citizen between Canada and the US.
