Much like you and me, celebrities are often caught doing weird things out in public or on the internet. The only difference between you and your favourite celebrity doing it is that they have thousands, sometimes millions of followers to witness it, whereas few will ever see what you did. Justin Bieber's Double Pop Popsicles Twitter campaign is the best thing we've seen today.
Back in May, Bieber took to Twitter to share a conversation that he had recently with his manager, Scooter Braun. The topic? His favourite ice cream brand. The tweet discussed how Popsicle had discontinued their famous double-stick pops.
It didn't take long for the official Popsicle Twitter account to respond to Bieber's tweet. Just a day later they replied saying, "We can’t Beliebe you’re a fan 😉 We’ll see what we can do for you and @scooterbraun. Who else misses our original Double Pop?".
As it turns out, Bieber and Braun are capable of convincing Popsicle to do quite a lot.
On Tuesday, July 16, the brand's Twitter account announced that they'd be bringing back the Double Pop for a limited time, but if they can reach 100,000 retweets, they promised to "bring back the Double Pop fun for everyone".
Of course, Bieber wouldn't be the pop-star that he is without continuing to make a few more demands. He replied to Popsicle's tweet, asking them to make sure they bring back the original banana flavour, which we're assuming must be his favourite.
Popsicle promised to bring back the banana flavour just for Bieber, but only if the original tweet reaches the goal of 100, 000 retweets. Currently, it's sitting just under 40,000. Twitter users have until July 23 to help Bieber, Braun, and Popsicle reach their goal.
If anyone of us ordinary joes were to tweet at Popsicle with a request for the Double Pop to make a comeback, it would probably remain unnoticed forever. Thanks to Bieber's millions of adoring fans, we just may get to enjoy a few Double Pops once again this summer.
