It's not all fun and games for the rich and famous. Kate Upton's Canada Goose partnership is causing a lot of backlash. The model is feeling the heat and it's not because her Canada Goose jacket is keeping her warm. People are not impressed by her partnering with a brand that uses real fur, down and wool.

The American model posted on Instagram for World Kindness Day on November 13 but her post was met with the opposite of kindness.

In the post, Upton mentions that she has partnered with Canadian clothing company Canada Goose and in the same sentences mentions her partnership with Polar Bears International, both of which she said are to "help raise awareness and ensure a future for Polar Bears."

People are accusing her of being a hypocrite for working with Canada Goose, a company that uses real fur, down and wool, and Polar Bears International, an organization working to ensure the future of polar bears in the Arctic.

At the beginning of November, Upton visited Churchill, Manitoba for the opening of the new Polar Bears International House.

The CEO of Canada Goose actually donated $1 million to help open the centre in the polar bear capital of the world.

When Upton posted about her partnerships with Canada Goose and Polar Bears International, many were quick to note the irony of her promoting both in the same post.

One person commented, "haha oh dear! The irony [of] how can you be so blind this is a really sad post."

Another said, "world kindness day and you partner with a company that takes the feathers off a duck to fill their coats! Think about it and look at their goose farms."

Someone commented, "So save the polar bears but kill the wolves?"

There are so many other comments from people calling out Upton. But she isn't the only celebrity feeling the heat online when it comes to Canada Goose.

Actress Kaley Cuoco also posted a photo on Instagram around the same time Upton did of her wearing a Canada Goose jacket while filming outside in New York City.

One person commented, "wearing a Canada Goose [jacket] when you share daily your love for animals....."

"Gross jacket. I thought you loved animals - instead, you are wearing a few of them," another person pointed out.

Someone else said, "nobody is perfect but it's really disappointing to see YOU support Canada Goose."

Despite prominent fashion brands and even Queen Elizabeth giving up real fur and people slamming those who haven't ditched it yet, Upton and Cuoco are still supporting Canada Goose.

"We believe all animals are entitled to humane treatment in life and death, and we are deeply committed to the ethical sourcing and responsible use of all animal materials in our products. We do not condone any willful mistreatment, neglect, or acts that maliciously cause animals undue suffering," Canada Goose stated on its website

According to a Newsweek investigation from early 2019, "there's no way for Canada Goose customers to know" if their products came from a place with strict regulations about getting fur from animals or not.

Even so, people are not pleased with Upton for her partnership with Canada Goose.
