“Grey’s Anatomy” Star Giacomo Gianniotti Just Shouted Out A Historic Toronto Restaurant
Attention burger lovers!
You can find iconic landmarks wherever you go and the bustling city of Toronto has tons of well-known hangouts. Even Grey's Anatomy's Giacomo Gianniotti knows that Johnny's Hamburgers in Scarborough is a classic. The actor grew up in Toronto and splits his time there as well as in LA and Rome.
According to IMDb, the 30-year-old was born in Rome and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was young. His gave him an education at Humber College's Theatre Program as well as an actor's residency at Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre.
Last summer, he shared on Instagram that hisis Parallel, a middle eastern spot located just west of the downtown area.
Today Gianniotti shouted out Johnny's Hamburgers on his Instagram story. He re-shared a photo originally posted by Old Toronto and added, "If you know, you know."
The burger joint is located at 2595 Victoria Park Ave and the restaurant's website notes that it's been around since 1967. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2017 and wrote on the website that they "plan to stay here and serve for the next 50 years."
On the menu, you can find a variety of 4oz burgers, as well as hot dogs, souvlaki, and fish and chips.
If Giannotti's shoutout wasn't enough, the restaurant has a Google rating of 4.5 out of over 2,500 reviews.
A recent review from today gave them a 5-star rating and the comment, "Best hamburgers in Toronto must go".
A top review from two weeks ago gave another 5-star rating and says, "Great food and service since the late sixties right up until now 2020. Very reasonably priced as their menu prices have not changed for as long as I can remember. Fresh food made to order; open late but closed on Sunday."
This 5-star review from three months ago might get you drooling.
A comment on the original post from Old Toronto also called it the “8th Wonder of the World”.
Gianniotti isn't the only famous face to shoutout the 53-year-old restaurant. In November 2017, Canadian politician Andrew Scheer posted photos of him and Dasong Zou visiting and meeting the owners.
In the Instagram location tag for the restaurant, there are dozens of photos posted by customers over the past few years.
