There may be some Royal blood coming to Canada, and not just for a visit. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are considering making the move to Canada. While it isn't as unusual as announcing a move to the United States, Canada is part of the Commonwealth after all, when was the last time you heard of a royal leaving the UK?
UsWeekly confirmed through a source that “Meghan and Harry have considered moving to Canada, as it’s part of the Commonwealth." It makes sense that the couple would want to make their lives as normal and private as possible. Especially now with the battle the couple is facing against the media.
Since the birth of their son Archie, the family has been living in the countryside outside of London at Frogmore cottage.
If they do decide to move to Canada, this wouldn't be new territory for Markle. She spent seven years in Toronto filming her show Suits. As for Harry, while he's never permanently lived in Canada, he's made many visits, especially when he started dating Markle.
The question is, would they move back to Toronto, or fall in love with another part of the country? If privacy and countryside is their vibe, then we're thinking Toronto may not be the place they want to raise Archie. Although, Markle would probably love living close to friends and family again, like the Mulroneys!
Right now, the source says that moving to Canada, "is an option" that they're considering for the future. Nothing has been set in stone.
What would moving to another country mean for the Royals? Right now, because of the Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth is Sovereign of the parliamentary democracy and is the only one that has any authority in the country, and even that power is slight.
We'll just have to be on the lookout for the upcoming royal announcement and any new info on what a move to Canada could mean for the family!
