Drake Revealed He Wants Rihanna To Release New Music On Instagram Live
The pair had a flirty exchange on Instagram last night.
Looks like Drake wants Rihanna to get back to work! During an Instagram live stream by DJ Spade, the “Take Care” artists exchanged some witty banter in the comments section, prompting the Canadian rapper to bring up Rihanna’s new album.
The last time Bad Gal RiRi dropped an album was in 2016 when she released Anti. Since then, the 32-year-old has been keeping busy with other pursuits like her Fenty Beauty makeup collection and her Savage X Fenty intimates line.
Like so many of us, celebrities like Drake and Rihanna are practicing social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, giving them plenty of time to spend scrolling through Instagram. Earlier this week, Drizzy even gave his followers a peek at his.
Last night, both artists were tuned into DJ Spade’s Instagram live, where they were chatting in the comments. “Dub plate come pretty like a Fenty foundation,” Drake said, throwing out some freestyle bars.
“Give Drake some water,” Rihanna replied, implying that the Canadian star was thirsting after her.
“Hahahahhahahaha yo have a bad attitude,” the “In My Feelings” singer teased back. Shortly after, he sent out another message to his rumoured ex-girlfriend saying “Rihanna drop R12 right now.”
What Drake is referring to is what’s better known to fans as R9, or Rihanna’s highly anticipated unreleased ninth studio album.
RiRi is well aware that fans have been waiting for this project for years now and even teased them about it on Instagram earlier this year.
“Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it,” she captioned a hilarious video of a dog rocking out.
Drake and Rihanna are no strangers to collaborating on music. The two have put out hits such as “Too Good,” “What’s My Name?” and “Work” over the years, and although we don’t know when (or if) we’ll be getting R9, it’s possible that the two could be working together yet again.
Earlier this year, Rihanna split from her boyfriend of two years, Hassan Jameel, and was spottedin New York City not long after.
About a month after his meet-up with the Fenty creator, Drizzy was linked to model, although his current relationship remains unknown.
