The Emmy nominations were released on Tuesday, July 16, and we think it's safe to say that the Schitt's Creek cast stole the show, especially in Canada. Fans of Schitt's Creek were patiently waiting for their favorite show to shine and this year, their dream finally came true! But fans weren't the only ones excited about the nominations. The Schitt's Creek cast celebrated their four Emmy nominations last night on social media with the rest of Canada.
The show scored nominations in the categories of best actor in a comedy series, best actress in a comedy series, best comedy, and best contemporary costume design. The celebrations from fans and cast the night of the Emmy annoucements were extra special because the show is about to air their sixth and final season.
The Schitt's Creek Instagram account announced the news with a post captioned, "can you even believe."
After that, the rest of the celebratory posts from the cast started pouring in. Dan Levy, whose father Eugene Levy was nominated for best comedic actor, posted a photo on his Instagram story celebrating with fellow cast member, Noah Reid. The caption reads, "Celebrating with @olreid in Italy! Wishing the whole crew was here. Unbelievable."
Even Eugene Levy's wife chimed in on the fun when she tweeted her celebratory memory:
Emily Hampshire had her own way of celebrating the nominations! The actress, who plays Stevie, created hilarious memes for both Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara who are both nominated in their respective best actor categories.
Canadian fans are still continuing to celebrate on Twitter along with the cast:
We can't wait to keep celebrating these nominations all the way up to September 22 at 8:00PM EST. And we hope to celebrate their wins for months after that!
