As we’re sure you heard yesterday Demi Lovato was hospitalized with what was reported as a suspected heroin overdose.
There are now some conflicting reports about what exactly caused the singer to overdose.
Some of this is because Lovato has refused to cooperate with police, but they aren’t holding it against her.
Police say that Lovato is currently not being investigated for drugs or anything else as they reportedly did not find any drugs at the scene.
Lovato has also refused to tell the police exactly what she took that caused her to have to go to the hospital for an overdose.
There are reports that LAPD officers collected an “item of evidence” related to illegal drugs that are not typically associated with heroin though so it contradicts the heroin claims what was previously reported.
An anonymous source close to Lovato is also claiming that the 25-year-old singer did not overdose on heroin.
The singer’s publicist has also released a statement which seems to imply that Lovato did not use heroin.
“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” the statement read.
“Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
No one has offered an alternative explanation for what happened to the singer though.
Lovato has battled substance abuse, mental health issues and eating disorders over the years.
