Paging Dr. Meredith Grey! We have some good news for Grey's Anatomy fans. Now, I know that watching Grey's Anatomy is very risky. You really never know when your favourite character will get killed off for no reason, or leave the country and never return. There are some characters I was definitely glad to say bye to, but don't even get me started on some of them. I'm still not over it. However, one person that may not ever leave is the one person that matters most. Ellen Pompeo revealed that she may not ever leave Grey's Anatomy, and it's basically for one reason only.
I feel like some people on the show are a ticking time bomb. You kind of know that their storyline isn't going anywhere, so you expect that they may be next. We never really expected Patrick Dempsey to go out the way he did, and they did Dr. Shepherd dirty. Cristina Yang, Arizona Robbins, etc. However, Ellen Pompeo is speaking out about Grey's Anatomy and saying they keep making her offers she can't refuse.
Ellen, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey on the show, had an interview with TV Line yesterday and dished some things about her time on Grey's Anatomy. In the interview, she said, "I keep saying, ‘I’m ready to move on and I want to stop the show before the ratings go down,’ but the ratings never go down!” Definitely not a bad problem to have.
She continued on, saying, "I like my situation here. As much as the idea of something new appeals to me… the truth is I have three kids. I don’t really want to travel and leave them." The main reason she doesn't want to leave? Well, they keep making her offers she can't say no to.
While the network and studio makes her offers she can't say no to, she's still not obligated to say yes. However, she does feel like the time is coming. In the interview, Ellen said, "I’m contracted through Season 16, and beyond that… I don’t really know. I take it day-by-day.”
We definitely feel like Grey's Anatomy would come to an end all together if Ellen Pompeo hung up her scrubs for good, and also the world may come to an end after that. But just like Ellen does, we'll take it day by day.
