Hailey Baldwin Posted About Being Compared To Other Women And It's Pretty Clear Who She's Talking About
Hailey Baldwin is really getting into her feels on Instagram.
Hailey Baldwin is speaking her truth. Yesterday, January 6th, Hailey posted about her 2019 New Year's resolutions. And while most of us having New Year's resolutions that are like read more, eat healthier, and stop spending money on nothing, Hailey definitely has a deeper resolution. If you've been living under a rock, then you wouldn't know that Hailey gets compared to Selena Gomez pretty much daily. Fans are still not over the fact that Hailey's husband Justin Bieber and Selena, are definitely over.
Well, it's clear that Hailey is sick and tired of those comparisons. I mean, who wouldn't be? Two girls shouldn't be compared to each other in the first place, let alone in the public eye. Hailey starts off her Instagram post by saying, "stepping into 2019 I want to be more open, I want to be more open about the things I struggle with, and be able to be more vulnerable. I’m a 22 years old, and the truth is no matter how amazing life may look from the outside I struggle..."
Whether or not she's trying to be relatable, she is. While we aren't all famous models at 22 and married to one of the worlds most sought upon men, we all have our struggles that you can't see from the outside.
Hailey posted the above photo with the super long caption, and went on to say, "I’m insecure, I’m fragile, I’m hurting, I have fears, I have doubts, I have anxiety, I get sad, I get angry. I have had more days than I can count where I’ve found myself scrolling through Instagram comparing myself, comparing my looks, feeling like I’m not good enough feeling like I lack so many things and really struggling to be confident in who I am because I constantly feel like I’m just not good enough. Every single day is a confidence battle for me." Who else scrolls through Instagram comparing themselves to every single person? *raises hand*
The caption didn't stop there, but this is the part where fans knew who she was talking about. "It’s hard finding who you are, but what’s even harder is being picked apart and compared to other women while trying to do that. There are days that I’m simply broken because of it." Hailey is compared to Selena almost daily. Whether it's in her Instagram comments, in a magazine, or wherever. We can only assume how hard it is to be with someone when all of their fans want them to be with someone else.
The caption does not end their either. Hailey basically goes on to say that God made us individuals for a reason, and to not question that. If Hailey is actually serious, I think it would be great for people who look up to her for her to share her struggles. You can read the rest of Hailey's looong caption here, and hopefully take something away from it.
