We should't be surprised at this point that women in music are raking in the cash. Forbes released their list of the top-earning women in music this 2017 and it is stacked with heavy hitters bringing home the bacon.
Forbes tracked the stars pre-taxed income from June 2016-2017, with the help of data collectors Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the Recording Industry Association of America and interviews with insiders. It should be noted that lawyer, manager, and agent fees were not deducted from this grand total.
1. Beyoncé // $105 million
Surprise! (I'm not surprised.) Beyoncé is this year's highest-paid woman in music due to the release of her smash hit album, Lemonade, and the duration of the Formation tour. B also racked in some cash from her Ivy Park clothing line and other business ventures.
2. Adele // $69 million
The low-key British songstress managed to bring in buckets of cash from touring her latest album, 25, bringing in at-least a million dollars after every concert. Not a bad haul for a couple hours of performing.
3. Taylor Swift // $44 million
Taylor Swift surprising brought in a pretty penny despite not releasing any new music over the past calendar year. While Swift didn't tour in 2016/2017, we can only imagine how much money the Reputation tour will bring in, considering it's already the highest selling album of 2017 after being out for a mere week.
4. Céline Dion // $42 million
The Canadian singer can thank her Las Vegas residency for her payday this past year. Despite her husband's death in 2016, Céline still managed to perform.
5. JLo // $38 million
JLo can also credit a Vegas residency for her payday this year, however her show World of Dance brought in a producer's and a judge's salary.
6. Dolly Parton // $37 Million
She may be 71-years old, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have drive. Dolly toured 63-dates this past year, bringing in millions
