It's with a heavy heart we must tell you the two-year feud between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift has come to an end. The reality star and pop singer now find themselves beholden to the same bosses. Those in charge have demanded the two kiss and make up because, despite running the industry, they have no idea what the people want: DRAMA.

Even though this chapter of celebrity beefs we cared way too much about has come to a close, we must thank this feud for its service before letting it go (à la Marie Kondo). We laughed. Taylor (certainly) cried. And now, we're saying goodbye to one of our favorite celebrity rivalries with this complete timeline of all the Kim Kardashian vs. Taylor Swift drama.

Septemeber 2009: The Kanye Thing

To really understand the Kim-Taylor feud, we need to go waaaaay back. This drama started before Kim even came into the picture. Remember the 2009 VMAs? Of course, you do. While Taylor was giving her acceptance speech, Kanye grabbed the mic out of her hands to say Beyonce had the best music video.

February 2016: Famous Drops

Alright, now we need to flash forward more than half a decade. In those seven years, Kim and Kanye got married. Kanye and Taylor joked they were going to run on the same presidential ticket. Everything was all hunky-dory until...Kanye dropped his song, Famous. On the track, he raps: I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / Goddamn / I made that bitch famous.

People, from Karlie Kloss to Gigi Hadid, rushed to Taylor's defense and jumped down Kanye's throat. According to Kanye though, Taylor had approved the lyrics before he released the song. "I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line, and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings," he tweeted.  But, a spokesperson for Taylor said the singer hadn't given her consent for a song "with such a strong misogynistic message."

Also, February 2016: Taylor Makes Digs At Kanye

At the 2016 Grammys, Taylor won Album of the Year, and during her acceptance speech, she went after Kanye as much as one can without explicitly naming the person they're slamming. "I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," Taylor said.

June 2016: Kim Defends Her Man

In an interview with GQKim stands by Kanye's version of events and said her husband did, in fact, get Taylor's approval prior to releasing Famous. "She totally knew that that was coming out," Kim said. "She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much shit for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved."

When the magazine reached out to Taylor for a comment, her spokesperson confirmed the phone call between Kanye and Taylor did happen but said her client never knew the rapper was going to use the term "bitch" in reference to her. "Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone," she finished.

So, things were obviously heating up, and then, the Famous music video came out. It features 12 of the biggest pop culture icons (including Kim and Kanye) NAKED. Well, it's not really them but, rather, an imagined portrayal because ~*art*~. In addition to a nude Taylor, the video also opened with a clip of her and audio from that fateful night at the 2009 VMAs that started all of this.

July 2016: Receipts !!!

Since the GQ interview, Kim maintained there were video recordings supporting Kanye's story that he asked Taylor's permission prior to referencing her in Famous. On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she discussed the feud with sister Kourtney and expressed her frustration with Taylor's insistence to "play the victim." The episode was the perfect setup for what happened next.

Immediately after KUWTK aired, Kim took to Snapchat to share the much-discussed video proof. In the clip, Kanye reads the lyrics to Taylor who then replies: "It’s like a compliment. I mean, I don’t think anybody would listen to that and be like, 'Oh, that’s a real diss.' You gotta tell the story that way that it happened to you and the way you experienced it." Kanye said he called Taylor because he cares about her "as a person, and as a friend."

But, of course, Taylor wasn't about to take all this lying down. She fired back with a post on Instagram. "Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me 'that bitch' in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened," she wrote. "While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot 'approve' a song you haven’t heard. Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination." Taylor ended her statement with her now infamous request to be "excluded from this narrative."

August 2017: Look What You Made Her Do

Kim's release of the tapes and Taylor's subsequent response were really the climax of this feud. In the weeks and months that followed, friends and family got involved. The internet weighed in. Periodically, people threw shade to remind us that, yeah, something BIG happened.

Taylor went on hiatus but reappeared in Aug. 2017 to drop a new song from her then-upcoming album Reputation. While she was out of the public eye, Taylor appeared to have done some soul-searching and decided to embrace the snake image Kim branded her with following the pinnacle of their feud. Look What You Made Me Do took on ALL the haters.

The End Of An Era

There you have it, friends. Even though the release of Taylor's Look What You Made Me Do was a year and a half ago, we lived with the hope that more drama was on the horizon. But, those dreams were dashed when Kim announced the feud finished earlier this month. It may be over, but this celebrity beef will live in our hearts forever, and I vow to someday recount it to my children as a bedtime story. What a time to have been alive.
