Kanye West Opens Up About Bipolar Disorder In New Interview

Late last week, Kanye West debuted his brand new album "Ye". In the album, he openly discussed his hardships, marital issues and other stressors that were related to his bipolar disorder.
Prior to releasing his album, Kanye never opened up about having any mental illnesses, let alone, bipolar disorder.
In the past, we've seen Kanye do erratic things in the public eye, like calling out Taylor Swift on stage at the VMAs all those years ago. Kanye West is no stranger to making bold statements.
He recently went on a rant when he visited the team at TMZ, which ultimately ended with .
Now, Kanye is opening up about his mental illness and how it affects him.
In the interview, Kanye reveals that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was 39-years-old, which was only last year. He also says that he thinks he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at this time in his life because he has the platform to talk about it.
He went into detail about the incident at TMZ and said, "[I] feel so blessed and privileged because think about people that have mental issues that are not Kanye West, that can't go and make [an album] and make it feel like it's all good."
He continued, "Think about somebody that does exactly what I did at TMZ and they just do that at work, right? But then Tuesday morning, they come in and they lost their job and they can't go back and make that. That's why God put that on me at age 40."
