Kim Kardashian's 4th of July party was something out of our BBQ dreams. Not only were our favourite celebrities in attendance - from North and Saint to the iconic Kris J - but the most delicious looking comfort food was served in big, fat portions.
Kim showed off various dishes in her Snapchat story, courtesy of KimKSnapchats, even saying that her Jamaican cooks have taught her how to make authentic dishes like jerk chicken and oxtail.
While I highly doubt Kim will ever get down and dirty in the kitchen to actually cook, the food looked delicious enough for me to let it slide and let her live.
The real interesting sequence of events came later, when we realized who was in attendance. Kimye invited 2 Chainz, his baby mama and 2 kids to the backyard BBQ. While the invite wasn't otherworldly considering 2 Chainz is signed to GOOD Music, Ye's label, he took up a spot normally held by Kanye's business partner/long term homie Jay-Z.
Jay-Z's exclusive streaming service Tidal reportedly owes Kanye 3-million dollars. The money was supposed to flow after Ye secured 1.5 million new subscribers to the service after signing over exclusive rights in 2015. Pair that with Jay-Z's nasty lyrics to Ye on his new album, 4:44, and it was only a matter of time before the master of shade - Kim - came through. Kim filmed the clip of her barbecue with the iconic lyrics, "Laaah lah lah wait 'til I get my money right." Subtle, yet effective.
