'Tis the season to drink eggnog, eat unnatural amounts of chocolate and play Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' on repeat.
The song is truly one of the official sounds of the holidays, so it's no surprise that that Carey still earns a hefty check each year from the track.
According to a report by The Daily Mail, the pop star earns over $500,000 USD from the royalties for All I Want For Christmas, co-written and produced by Walter Afanasieff, straight into her pocket.
But don't think Mariah will be putting her feet up this Christmas. The pop queen has now branched out to holiday-themed movies, including a cartoon which centres on a young girl named (you guessed it) Mariah, who dreams of getting a puppy for Christmas every year.
The film has its own soundtrack, featuring a new song called "Lil Snowman", digital personalised greetings cards and a Christmas world tour with dates in New York, Paris, and London.
And Carey's not the only one raking it in this time of year. The report also stated that songwriters Noddy Holder and Jim Lea earn an estimated £500,000 for Slade's "Merry Xmas Everybody" each year, The Pogues earn £400,000 for "Fairytale of New York", and Paul McCartney earns £260,000 for "Wonderful Christmastime".
Meanwhile, most of us are spending the holidays working retail and earning minimum wage. Merry Christmas!
