Meghan Markle's Maid Of Honor Has Been Chosen And She's Actually Canadian
The wedding for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has been in the works for a while and it's no secret that the future royal has been making some serious moves when it comes to planning. Just about every little detail seems to be finalized (probably including the dress, but let's be real we won't be seeing that until the big day). Thankfully there is some other big news that we can assume- Meghan's maid of honour!
In the beginning, many rumoured that Markle would actually ask her sister-in-law Kate Middleton to take on the role as her maid of honour. Instead, the star is apparently asking a friend "who has stood by her for many years before meeting Harry."
It turns out that friend is none other than Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney! If you recognize that last name, it's because her husband Ben Mulroney is a host over at eTalk Canada who is also the son of ex-Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
There's definitely no surprise in that choice considering that Markle and Mulroney have been inseparable since she arrived in Toronto back in 2011 to start filming Suits. While Markle's Instagram account is long gone, Mulroney's gives us a chance to see a glimpse into their longtime friendship that started right here in Toronto!
Many did speculate that it might have been fellow actor Privanka Chopra or Markle's co-star Sarah Rafferty who would have gotten the gig. Though if anything it's quite a surprise there is a Maid of Honour at all. British weddings don't typically include one but it's been said by sources over at US Weekly that the wedding would feature "American touches" to cater to Markle's homeland.
So it's safe to say Canadians have made a pretty big mark on this royal wedding, and we can't wait to see how it all go down. There are still a ton of exciting details that the public won't know until we're watching it live so keep your countdown 'till the big day running!
