Say what?! Selena Gomez is not about fake friends in 2018. She doesn't those like-for-likes and she's certainly not fking up her ratio for the likes of you. Selena Gomez recently unfollowed three-hundred people on her Instagram, making all of us wonder what brought on this social-media cleanse?
Selena visited her hometown of Grand Prairie, Texas this past weekend and had somewhat of an emotional breakthrough. Selena posted on the porch of her childhood home, looking sweet in a white turtle neck and sweatpants. She wrote, "The home I grew up in, from birth to 13... (no one was home when I knocked this time lol) I visit this place every chance I get. In many ways it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today. Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you Grand Prairie. Thank you."
It sounds to me like Selena is feeling a little nostalgic for a fame-free life, which is more than fair for someone under a global spotlight. Selena flushed out tons of people she once followed, simply to clear her feed (and mind) of anyone that's not relevant to her authentic self. Some of the more notable people to get the Gomez boot? Supermodel Gigi Hadid and former childhood friend, Demi Lovato.
Selena still follows some great fans accounts, as well as a handful of confidents from BFF Taylor Swift, to Amy Schumer, Jessica Alba and her stylist Kate Young. Louis Vuitton, Time, and Puma also stayed on Selena's good list along with her forever friend and kidney donor, Francia Raisa.
