While Selena has stayed tight-lipped about her relationships as of late, it seems one of her past beaus definitely isn't. While Gomez was routinely rumoured to be with just about every guy she was hanging around while single, there was one rumour in particular that kept alive for quite a while. That being her rumoured relationship with singer/songwriter Charlie Puth.
The pair had done a song together off of his debut album called "We Don't Talk Anymore," and was an instant success. Though many didn't think they would be anything more than just co-singers. Especially considering Selena had actively declined the rumours back in 2016 when asked by E!, saying: "we're [not dating], that's for sure." Puth even echoed that when asked on a radio show a few months later saying "we did a song together and people think that there's more, but we just musically collaborated."
Though it turns out there was something considering Puth told Billboard just yesterday when asked about Gomez in an interview:
"I don’t kiss and tell, but the only way a song like ['We Don't Talk Anymore'] can come across as real is if there’s something else going on behind the scenes. And that’s what was happening [with Gomez]. Very short-lived, very small, but very impactful. And it really messed me up. I’m trying to put this the best way possible: It wasn’t like I was the only person on her mind. And I think I knew that going in -- what I was getting myself into."
So they definitely did have something going on there, but there are still SO many questions. Is he alluding to Bieber as being the other person on her mind? The Weeknd? Unfortunately, we doubt we'll get any more juice on that relationship past Puth's most recent comment considering it's pretty bold. We're sure Selena is just as stunned as we are that he was that candid!
